LEIDEN – A new collaboration between HMC, Haga Hospital, and LUMC aims to enhance elderly care in the region. With a unified approach, medical specialists will support primary care providers, including general practitioners and nursing homes. Ali Lahdidioui, an internist at Haga Hospital, highlights the benefits: “Sharing knowledge improves regional healthcare efficiency and helps spread best practices.”

The aging population brings increasingly complex healthcare needs. By joining forces, the hospitals seek to ensure that older adults receive the right care in the right place, avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions and easing the burden on primary care. “Innovation and collaboration make a significant difference for vulnerable seniors,” says Frederiek van den Bos of LUMC. “This initiative raises elderly care to a higher standard.”
